Glenn Watkinson
Chief Executive Officer

Glenn has been part of Sympac since 1998, building a reputation for delivering practical business solutions, improving customer profitability, and maintaining a strong focus on service quality.

Starting in Client Services, Glenn quickly progressed into leadership roles, driven by a natural ability to shape solutions and support real business outcomes. His experience working directly with customers across Australia helped establish his reputation as a trusted advisor — ensuring systems were implemented effectively and aligned to how businesses operate.

Now as CEO, Glenn leads Sympac’s implementation and service delivery, driving consistent, high‑quality outcomes while strengthening long‑term customer relationships. He remains focused on improving the end‑user experience, ensuring the platform continues to evolve and deliver lasting value.

Alison Cleary
Operational Excellence Manager

Alison joined Sympac in 2019, bringing extensive experience leading large‑scale software projects and managing high‑performing teams within major national organisations.

With a background spanning complex project delivery and team leadership, Alison has a strong focus on operational performance and customer experience. Her experience managing large teams in high‑volume environments has shaped a practical, outcomes‑driven approach to improving processes and delivering consistent service.

Now as Operational Excellence Manager, Alison leads the day‑to‑day operations of the Sympac team, driving continuous improvement across service delivery, systems and internal processes. She plays a key role in ensuring operations run efficiently while strengthening the overall customer experience.

Alison’s approach is defined by clear leadership, operational discipline and a focus on building consistent, high‑quality outcomes across the business.

Paul Haase
Professional Services Manager

Paul serves as Professional Services Manager at Sympac, where he leads the delivery of professional services and drives operational efficiency to create meaningful impact for clients and partners alike. His strong leadership, commercial mindset, and focus on outcomes make him a key contributor to Sympac’s continued success.

Paul brings a wealth of experience built over an impressive career with IHG, where he held a diverse range of roles spanning Retail Services, Merchandise, National Operations, Development Manager, Business Development Manager, and Retail Systems Analyst. Most recently, he served as Commercial Manager for the Taits Group, further strengthening his expertise in commercial strategy and business performance.

With deep knowledge of retail operations, systems development, and customer-focused delivery, Paul is well equipped to lead service excellence across the organisation. His ability to connect operational execution with strategic outcomes ensures Sympac continues to enhance its service offering and deliver outstanding results for its customers.

Paul’s proven leadership, industry insight, and commitment to continuous improvement position him as a valuable asset in driving both client success and organisational growth.

Rick Debono
Research & Development Manager

Rick is Research & Development Manager at Sympac, where he leads the organisation’s software strategy and innovation agenda. With over 18 years of experience as a business systems professional, Rick plays a critical role in advancing Sympac’s technology capabilities and ensuring its solutions continue to meet the evolving needs of clients and the broader industry.

Throughout his tenure at Sympac, Rick has been instrumental in driving business success across a range of pivotal roles, including help desk support, professional services, and software development. This breadth of experience has given him a deep, end-to-end understanding of both the platform and the customer experience, positioning him as a key leader within the organisation.

In his current role as Research & Development Manager, Rick leads a dynamic software team focused on enhancing Sympac’s core product while expanding its online and mobile platforms. With a meticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on innovation, he oversees the design and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that align with industry standards and client expectations.

David Gibson
Chief Customer Officer

David now serves as Chief Customer Officer at Sympac, where he leads the organisation’s customer strategy, ensuring exceptional client experiences while driving sustainable growth. His impressive track record, strategic mindset, and deep understanding of client needs make him an indispensable member of the leadership team.

Prior to stepping into the Chief Customer Officer role, David held the vital position of Key Account Manager at Sympac. In this role, he proactively engaged with key clients to understand their needs and requirements, strengthening relationships and expanding stakeholder engagement. His ability to build strong partnerships consistently enhanced client satisfaction and contributed to meaningful business growth.

David has a Master of Business Administration with Griffith University. Combined with his extensive experience in the big box retail environment, this equips him with the expertise to navigate the complexities of the retail landscape, making him an invaluable asset to Sympac.

David continues to lead the charge in ensuring the success of Sympac’s clients while supporting the ongoing growth and evolution of the organisation.

Rob Goulter
Business Development Manager

Rob has been part of Sympac since 2004, returning in 2018 with a wealth of commercial and operational experience across multiple industries.

With a background spanning technical training, accounting, and senior leadership roles, Rob has built strong expertise in managing businesses, improving efficiency, and delivering measurable results. His experience leading teams and managing profit and loss across the motor industry has shaped a practical, results‑focused approach to business improvement.

In his role, Rob works closely with customers to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and profitability. Through detailed system reviews and a strong understanding of best practice, he helps businesses streamline operations and unlock better performance.
