UBANGI

Division 1:

UBANGI started in the Morwell competition in 1975, the oldest club in the Latrobe Valley. The team has and has had in its ranks some of the best players in Victoria and even in Australia. The team has a long history of winning in Morwell and tournaments around Victoria.

UBANGI has had a dominating 1997 season. Winning consistently through the year. The winning the first grand final in the year they went on the grand final in the second competition, losing a hard final (and one of their few loses at all this season) to Warriors.

With the expansion of teams in the Division 1 at the Morwell competition. UBANGI plans to split and enter two separate teams into Division 1. The expectation is that the competition as a whole will improve, as teams split and reform, there will be a general leveling of skill sets in the clubs, resulting in evenly matched sides, awarding the spectators with more exciting and entertaining matches.

It is expected that UBANGI will fair well in the new season. Led by setting Captain Grubb, the team will have a consistent depth of players.
